Dry Needling

Atlas PT offers dry needling in Denver, Evergreen, and Lone Tree to relieve muscle tension and improve function.

What Is Dry Needling?

Dry needling targets trigger points — tight muscle knots that cause pain, stiffness, and restricted movement. A thin, solid needle is inserted into the affected area to release tension, improve blood flow, and stimulate healing.

No medication is injected. The effect is mechanical and neurological, not pharmaceutical.

How It Works

When the needle reaches a trigger point, the muscle produces a brief twitch response, then relaxes. This helps:

  • Decrease pain
  • Reduce muscle tension
  • Improve flexibility
  • Increase circulation
  • Stimulate natural endorphin release

Dry needling is effective for:

  • Neck and back pain
  • Tension headaches
  • Myofascial pain
  • Sports injuries
  • Tendonitis
  • Plantar fasciitis
  • Sciatica

Benefits of Dry Needling:

  • Rapid pain relief
  • Improved range of motion
  • Faster recovery
  • Drug-free treatment
  • Enhanced performance
  • Reduced risk of re-injury
